The today's lake was created by treated sewage released to this
quarry in the earlier days.

This attracted birds, mainly migrating birds which used this new
oasis on their long way from Europe and Asia towards Africa as a
new resting place. The reeds which were established by nature














provided perfect shelter and breeding conditions. At the time of restructuring the developing city within this area around 180 bird
species were living here.

The landscape design embedded the existing natural lake setting
by an attractive nature park. The park provides both, protection for
the wildlife and greenery for the visitors.

Construction time is from 2005 until 2010.
